Romantic Getaway

Dav took me to PD & Melaka for my birthday. Had a great R&R wkend where we did nothing but eat and sleep.

Our journey started on Friday morning where we took our own sweet time driving down to PD through Seremban. Stayed a nite in amazing The Avillion and then continue on our journey to Melaka on Saturday. We stayed in Hotel Puri (a boutique hotel), which is just behind Jonker Street. Its so convenient since its so near to the antiques shops, nite market and not forgetting the food.

Ok pictures worth a thousand words, so here we go.....

Walkway to our water chalet

Adult swimming pool by the walkway

These are standard water chalets, whereby the view from the balcony are blocked.

Our bedroom. Notice that there's 2 set of beds... the smaller one is for reading by the window while listening to the sound of the wave. Damn relaxing. Btw, this pic is taken by me. Look damn professional rite??! Thks to Dav's camera.

Such a romantic room....

Seats on the balcony to enjoy the sea view, with nothing blocking our view

Special vehicle parked on our doorsteps carryin the neccesity equipment for our Rejuvenating Treatment. It includes 15 mins salt footbath and 45 mins massage. Painful but relaxing.

Ikan & ketam bakar together with Tom Yam soup for our dinner.. Yummy!

Havin drinks & enjoyin live music in the bar after a hearty meal!

Sunrise view from the balcony

Our neighbour

Hotel Puri's entrance

Found a bouquet of lilies on the bed as we walked into the room! So sweet...

Karaoke Birthday Party

My colleagues organised a combined birthday celebration for Gary & I, which was held last Friday in Red Box @ The Curve. The turn out was great. There was about 16 of us, majority of which are from TSRS (with their respective partners of course).

We started singing from 9pm, of which ppl only turn up from 930 - 1030pm (typical M'sian time). Initially we were suppose to end our session at 12am. Since the charges are so expensive although I didnt hv to pay, they allow us to stay until 1am. Then Kok Tin bought ANOTHER bottle, thus the session lasted until 3am!!

Total consumption that nite:
  • 4 bottles of chivas (mixed with water/coke)
  • 3 jugs of beers
  • fruit platter
  • 1 snacks platter
  • 1 HUGE birthday cake

  • Here are some of the pics we took..

    Damage to the Car

As requested by Mike, took some pics of the damage. Although it does not seem to look really bad but still its a damage n it needs to be fixed!

Cant believe we're hv to wait 2 weeks to get the police report, pictures they took, sketches AND results...

    Accident - Part 2

So we managed to get a police report on Monday, then we realised we need to wait another 2 WEEKS for the pictures, sketches & results of the report!!!

A rough calculation on the time leads to the following:
Collect docs from police station - 18 July
Submit docs to insurance agent for claim - 23 or 24 July
Waiting time for claim processing - 2 weeks to months?!?!

Looks like the earliest we can fix the car is the end of July or early Aug. Thats if the insurance claim goes through without problems.

    Such a hassle!

    Accident

Got into accident on Federal Highway on Thursday nite, on our way home from KLCC.

I was driving Dav's car as he forgot to bring his wallet (no driving license) when our car was suddenly knocked from behind on the fast lane. As the car behind was travelling quite fast, the impact has caused our car to hit another car in front of our car. It was a 3 car pile-up accident!

Was quite shocked when it happened due to the impact.

But of course Dav was more angry than shock cos his car got banged.

After long and tedious discussion among the 3 car owners, everyone agreed to lodge police report mainly because the driver at fault cant afford to pay for the damages. So the only resolution is to lodge a report and claim his insurance. So this is where our 'adventure' begins.

Firstly, no one knows which police station to lodge police report. Different people has different location. Even the bloody AMAssurance toll free helpline cant give us an answer! So we tried the police traffic station near Petaling Street and luckily we got it right....

Next, we were not sure how to go about making the insurance claim and which workshop to sent the car to fix. Went to Dav's regular workshop in Sunway and the owner was kind enough to contact his insurance friend to ask for advise. Got all the instruction but cant do anything until we get the police report, photographs & the results from the police station on Monday.

Then, got a call from Dav's bro which told us that we should have went to another workshop in Kota Kemuning (KK). So, we head off to KK to check out the workshop. On the way there I managed to stop by my sis's place to have a look at her house, which is in KK. This workshop ppl also gave us the same instruction. Since the bro knows the ppl in this workshop, Dav decide that maybe it'll be better to sent it here.

By the end of the day, Dav was quite upset that it involves so many things and also knowing that it may take quite a while to fix his car since the damange it not that great!

Luckily his car can still work. So at the mean time, need to settle the police report and the insurance claim before his car can be fixed.

    Lessons learnt:
    • Patient is a virtue.
    • No matter how save u drive, if other ppl do not drive safely, your ASS will still get hit!
    • Knowledge transfer in M'sia sucks! No one knows exacly the correct place to go and what to do.
