Exams over!!

yes, exams ended 2 wks ago and I'm only updating the blog now.. this is pure laziness. I think there is always a cycle where u have to go through when u encounter new things and then after a while the cycle will ends with you not achieving anything in the long term. For example:

1. Join a gym and go every other day to once a week to once every fortnight to totally stop your membership, or

2. Start a new weekly hobby (e.g. hiking) and stick to it until one day you got other things to do and then it totally stopped!, or

3.Blogging everyday becomes everyweek becomes everymonth then finally stop blogging...

hmm.. I've gone through the first two cycles above.. hopefully I wont go through it for the third example.. heheheh

Anyway been learning alot of chinese words like
你好吗?
我很好.
今天你忙吗?

ahh.. not bad rite... everyweek we got test one ok... i think i'll have to practice every other day in order to remember them forever.. its so easy to recognise a word. But when I wan to write them out it takes so long for me to remember how to write them...

Got more words to remember this week.. my teacher said got essay exam after the 5th lesson.. so EXCITING! hahahahaha

Finally, tomorrow is exam day!

So I am pattiently waiting for the hour when the exam actually starts... quite ridicous actually but I just cant take it anymore... its time to just dish it all out!! I mean for the exam of course.

When I was home supposely to 'study' I did some thinking and internet surfing and started asking myself some of the things that I've come across:

1. Why do best/good friends complains and bitch abt each other to other ppl? arent good friends suppose to have a wonderful friendship minus the bitchiness and dissatisfaction abt each other's weaknesses? this always gets to me. I always thought that good friends will accept each other for who they are and especially how they behave/react to everything.
2. Why stubborn ppl do not listen to other ppl's opinion/suggestions? I have to admin I can very stubborn when I am in the 'mood'. Sometimes cos I think I'm right.. other times just for the sake of not giving in to other ppl (ie EGO)
3. Why ppl love porn so much?? Esp those who likes to share them on the internet... I've come across a blog whereby this couple shares their sexual experiences from their fetish with women panties to S&M. Also recently (more like 2 days ago) this S'porean girl just posted a nude picture of herself on her blog and share more of her sexual encounters on her blog.
4. Why the sudden craze with blogging? Until there's a Blogging Convention in Singapore (which will be held on 16 July 2005 in Woodlands). What will ppl get out of attending this convention?? sigh.... Besides that, bloggers are so famous until they get interviewed by the media!@!@!

That is all I can think of at the moment. Need to do last minute preparation for tomorrow. Drop me a line if u have the answers to the above.

Did a define:search on googles on what 'motile' means - "capable of self-propelled movement. A term that is sometimes used to distinguish between certain types of organisms found in water." I'm imagining small little albino tadpoles fitted with propeller hanging around, waiting for the green light. Hmmm...

Homosexual Activity Among Animals Stirs Debate

Found this article in National Geographic website. Imagine even animals hv the same behaviour as human.. so I would like to know is why is homosexuality such a 'BAD' thing?? I mean come on.. even the animals have the same preferences.

I believe its just a preference/ a choice.. and I dont see anything wrong with it. Everyone is entitle to choose the path they want to take in life.. and this includes sexual preferences. I truly do not agree and do not understand ppl who cant accept homosexuality esp those who are 'afraid' thus become violent abt the whole subject.

People tend to become 'scare' with the things they do not understand and I think the best way to curb this is to be calm and understand the it better before setting ur mind to 'HATE' them and their behaviour.

Lets make this place a better place to live and live in harmony!

CISA Exam

I am so damn BORED with studying already!!!! I mean, its always good to gain more knowledge... its so damn boring!
Ok. I know I shouldnt be complaining esp when I have been given 2 wks off from work to do revision since the exam is only 5 days away! But I cant seem to waste more time doing other things.. for example, check emails, sleep, watch tv/dvd, surf the net, blogging, check out new ipod gadgets, etc, etc, etc... the list just goes on and on and on...

To make the full use of my study break.. I went out n bought 2 new novels .. muahahahahahah so bad man..... There are:

1. Dan Brown - The Da Vinci Code
2. Terry Pratchett - Pyramids

RSS

Recently I have just discovered a new technology which I find quite cool.. its called Really Simple Syndication (RSS). RSS is a popular technology employed by websites and weblogs to push headlines and summaries of content directly to users (Definition from The Star Newspaper website). How it works? Brief description according to my interpretation:

From a reader point of view

1. Select a RSS reader. There is a few in the market. Currently I am using Feedreader. This is a software installed in your machine which help you receive the feed daily. There is also an online version called NewsGator. Instead of installing a software, you can use this online version.
2. Next browse through websites which has the RSS symbol. This indicates that you can subscribe to the website's rss feed.
3. Right click on the RSS symbol and copy shortcut.
4. Add the shortcut into your RSS reader (i.e. Add new Feed)
5. Enjoy reading latest updates to the website you have just added!

As I have just discovered this new technology.. I have only managed to understand how to add new feed. Have not read up on how to create one. Will keep you guys updated on that one.. its abit technical for my standard. hehehehe

Ohh.. you can get RSS feed from this blog. Just add this link to your RSS reader and VIOLA! you will be alerted on the new updates on this blog. I have also attached the link on the left bar.

Mandarin Class

Ni hao ma.. ?

My colleagues and I have decided to learn how to speak and write in chinese and today was our first class. I have to say, alot of hard work is needed if we want this to be a success!

The first class involves learning how to speak the chinese syllable... we have to pronounce the letters like 'b' 'p' 'm' 'f' in chinese. Sigh... imagine all the laughter and weird looks we gave each other.

The homework for the week is to write 2 pages of the 8 basic chinese strokes n remembering what its called in chinese. There's gonna be a test next class!

iDog

This is another toy which is piggy-bagging on the iPOD name.... its called iDOG manufactured by Sega Toys. Was out in Japan on April 2005. Am trying to locate a seller who is selling it cos its so cute. You can even hook your mp3 player to the dog and it will shake its head n ears when the music start playing. A friend got sent to work in Mongolia for three weeks, and I was talkin to him this afternoon when he told me he's in the middle of the Gobi Dessert. This is actually where he has been stayin for the past 3 days and who would have thought that you can get internet access out in the middle of the dessert, from this tent!! hehehehe..

Working in the Twin Towers

Been posted to work in the Twin Towers for 3 weeks. Initial thought was "COOL!" especially when I found out that my work station is on the 66th floor!!! Then I changed my mind completely after my first day. My client is base on the 26th floor. The following is the account of the amount of lifts I have to go through just to see my client and go back to my work station...

>To go to 26th floor from 66th floor
1. Go down to 42nd floor.
2. Change lifts to take the Mezzanie lifts to go down to ground floor.
3. Locate even number lifts which goes to 26th floor.

To go back up to 66th floor from 26th floor
1. Go down to ground floor.
2. Change lifts to take the Mezzanie lifts to 41st floor.
3. Locate lifts which goes to 66th floor.

By the time I arrived back at my work station, I would have taken 6 lifts!!!!!! Imagine if I have to see client a few times in one day.... SIGH!

Although one cool thing happened this week. I managed to walked on the Level 42 Skybridge. But the view is kinda restricted. I think the view from the offices is much better.

Bored with my studies..

Been a long time since I spent the whole saturday at home.. not even taking a single step out of the hse~!

Neway.. was meant to study for my up-n-coming CISA exam.. but mission failled miserably. Only managed to open the manual after watching my first ever CSI:NY.. thats abt 11pm! Even then I didnt fully concentrate on my study.. was half surfing the net n half studying.

So thats when I came across this quiz: What Age Do You Act? Guess how old they say I am?? Drum rolls pls... tadatadatadatadatada... 24 and the accompany description says "You are a twentysomething at heart. You feel excited about what's to come... love, work, and new experiences." Not sure whether this is a good news or a bad news..

Btw.. cant wait for dav to come back!! :P
